it’s a family affair…

I had a great time with the Grieve Family and Jarred. We had lots of fun! You cannot go wrong with three beautiful  ladies. I had fun playing with my camera, it was very relaxed but with the aim of having a whopping cool Christmas card photo we kept it very simple, indoors and fun. Here are some of my favorites! Enjoy!

Life is sometimes kind enough to give you friends. Good life long friends! So you can imagine how stoked I was when two of my best friends made this beautiful little girl. Emily Ann Nevette. She is just to precious for words! I spent a morning at their place taking photographs of the little princess. Here are some of my favorites! Enjoy!

The Chalupsky Family

On a sunny winter’s afternoon I had the honor of hanging with the Chalupsky family. Herman and Michaela have just had beautiful Ella. I had a wonderful time shooting this awesome family. They have an lovely apartment right on the harbor mouth. AMAZING. When I am all growed up I want to live there! A stunning afternoon of shooting, some great photos with an awesome family and a new mom and dad that are very very happy parents… Here are a few of the photographs from the fun afternoon.

If you have a new born and would love for me to capture some moments. Please let me know. That’s all for now…

behind the mask…

In my opinion, I have saved the best to last. I met this very interesting guy in Kalk bay. A mime. A real live mime. I must admit he was not the greatest mime as he spoke but he told me he was not in character and so it did not count. I was very stoked to have found such an awesome character. I asked if I could take some photographs, he obliged very enthusiastically. As I started to snap away he started to get into it big time. His facial expressions became more animated and he was a pleasure to shoot. I got way more than I bargained for. I walked away from that moment feeling very grateful to have met this amazing man who’s main goal was as he so eloquently put it , “to make people happy and enjoy their”. I was inspired. If only that is what we all aspired to do. Imagine what kind of world that would be. Enjoy this slide show.

a lost boy in Cape Town…

I was wandering through Kalk bay admiring the beauty of the Cape and then I saw this fellow, Lucky. He was walking among the tourists who all seemed oblivious to him. So I stopped and chatted with him. I took a few photos with his permission and here they are. I hope they are a reminder of the heavy responsibility we still have as South Africans.

a whimper of a smile.

I asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up. He said all he wanted to do was get a job, no matter what it was.

Cape Town – part 2

like under the mountain… hey.

Cape Town is one of my most favorite place in the world. It is just beautiful. Recently my family and I ventured down there for a few days and had a blast. I must also mention that I found the best nacho’s in the world. If you are in Cape Town or going soon you must visit the Fat Cactus in Long Street. Seriously, best nacho’s ever and if you know me then you will know that is a massive statement since my nacho’s are pretty friggen awesome. Anyway, we had a great time and I had my camera with me to catch some awesomeness. I will be posting a few photographs from my wanderings through the Mother City.
